Independence Day Closing and Curbside Recycling Pick-up Schedule
Both the Tompkins County Department of Recycling and Materials Management and the Recycling & Solid Waste Center (RSWC) will be closed on Thursday, July 4th in observance of the Independence Day holiday.
There will be no curbside recycling collection on Thursday, July 4th.
Recycling collection will take place a day late for the remainder of the holiday week. That means if your regularly scheduled collection day is Thursday, recycling will be picked up on Friday and regular Friday collection will take place Saturday.
The “Find My Recycling Day” tool at www.recycletompkins.org allows residents to receive curbside pickup reminders via phone, text or email that automatically adjust for holidays when there is no recycling collection. Enter the address and click “Get a Reminder.”
