Applications open for Master Composter training at Cornell Cooperative Extension Tompkins County

Help reduce waste, protect the environment, and improve gardens by teaching others to compost in Tompkins County!

Classes will be held in person at CCETC, 615 Willow Ave unless it becomes necessary to hold a class over Zoom.

Join other enthusiastic volunteers for 10 in-depth, weekly classes, and ~2 hours/week of practical learning outside of class. Classes cover a variety of compost and education topics that will prepare you to become a compost educator in Tompkins County. Training outside of class includes hands-on composting, assisting at events, attending field trips, researching compost topics, and creating a compost mini presentation. After training, use your new compost know-how and teaching experience to help others in the community.

Training classes will be held every Thursday evening, 6:00 – 8:00pm, from February 15 to May 2. To accommodate school breaks, classes will not be held on March 28, or April 4.
