Compost Fair and 4H Duck Race April 28th

Visit Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) Tompkins County on April 28th for a combined Compost Fair and 4H Rubber Duck Race extravaganza! The Compost Fair will include information and demonstrations of beginning and advanced compost techniques, continuous tours of their demonstration site, live music, food, and activities for kids. Compost bins will be for sale while supplies last. Recycling and Materials Management staff will be present, among other organizations.

At 2:00pm, 3200 bright yellow rubber ducks will drop into Cascadilla Falls at the Cornell Botanic Gardens Cascadilla Gorge Trail, University Avenue & Linn Street.  Follow the ducks down the creek to the finish line at CCE-Tompkins and find out if your duck came in first and won the $750 cash “nest egg”.  Fastest ducks win great prizes donated by local businesses.  Visit ccetompkins.org/4h/duckrace for more information or buy your duck chances online at: http://duckrace.peaksmaker.com/champions/ .  Last minute duck sales will be available at CCE while supplies last for $5/ duck or $20 for a flock of 5. All proceeds benefit 4-H youth programs in Tompkins County. To volunteer, donate a prize, or with questions, contact Athena Steinkraus, ahs38@cornell.edu or leave a message for her at (607) 272-2292 ext. 139.
