New Recycling Guidelines Brochure Now Available

“Recycle Right” in Tompkins County

The new 2020-2021 Tompkins County Curbside Recycling Guidelines brochure is now available.

The brochure is produced by the Department of Recycling and Materials Management, and covers the 12-month period from July 2020 through June 2021.

The publication includes a recycling pick-up calendar through June 2021. There is also valuable information about curbside recycling collection, including a list of items that can be recycled both at the curb and at the Recycling and Solid Waste Center (160 Commercial Avenue in Ithaca).

County residents are reminded that single use plastic bags are not acceptable in curbside bins, and recyclables cannotbe collected in plastic bags. Curbside recycling bins with unacceptable items will be left at the curb with a sticker explaining why it was rejected.

Copies of the 2020-21 Curbside Recycling Guidelines are available at the TCRMM office at 122 Commercial Avenue, as well as the RSWC public drop off. They have been distributed to all open municipal offices, food scraps drop spots, and all major grocery stores throughout Tompkins County.
