Labor Day Closings and Curbside Recycling Pick-Up Schedule

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Friday, September 2nd, 2022

The Tompkins County Department of Recycling and Materials Management Office and the Recycling and Solid Waste Center will be closed on Monday, September 5th in observance of Labor Day.

There will be no curbside recycling collection on Monday, September 5th.

Recycling collection will take place one day late for the remainder of the holiday week. That means if your regularly scheduled collection day is Monday, recycling will be picked up on Tuesday; regular Tuesday collection will take place Wednesday, and so on.

The “Find My Recycling Day” tool at www.recycletompkins.org allows residents to receive curbside pickup reminders via phone, text or email that automatically adjust for holidays when there is no recycling collection. Enter the address and click “Get a Reminder.”

Food scraps recycling drop spots are not affected by the holiday.

Have a safe and happy holiday weekend!
